I did a thing last night. Took a fun flower-arranging class with @jill_georgia_joyner at her @popupflowersavondale. Jill is a good friend and neighbor who did all the gorgeous flowers for our son’s backyard wedding last June. There’s a wreath-making workshop coming up soon that I’m thinking about—especially after yesterday’s half-ass craft fail. I had a vision. And a pile of sticks. Mr. MKA had a pocket full of zip ties and a step ladder and some serious doubts. The doorway went okay, but then I had grandiose visions for a huge wreath of dried hydrangeas. The base was to be a vintage fan blade cover. He attached chicken wire to the base. I clipped eleventy billion hydrangeas from the garden…and poked them through the chicken wire. Then things got outta hand. The flowers kept falling off.
